NEJM
The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) is the most widely read and cited medical journal in the world and the longest continuously published medical periodical. Mobile IQ’s relationship started with NEJM in 2012 when we collaborated to design and built the leading journals first iPad solution. Having been a very successful digital addition with its very distinct design NEJM wanted to update their application to work more inline with our App Studio journal solution.
Project Summary
As the sole designer on the project, my responsibilities were across product design and UI. Myself and the project manager worked directly with the client to make sure all designs met expectation.
Working with App Studio journal solution meant much of the groundwork had been done. However NEJM’s Brand is a well recognised and well established brand that would need to be retained throughout the design. As NEJM also wanted to retain many of the features found in the existing app we needed to do some customisations to the journal framework to incorporate the new feature set.
As we only had a short 6 week period of time on the project it was important to keep on top of the client making sure feedback was provided to not hold up the process. We used InVision to gather all feedback which increased efficiency. NEJM's content adapted well to App Studio therefore only a couple of iterations were needed to get to the final result.
